Făgăraș Fest returns between 10th and 12th July 2026 with its seventh edition, held at the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains, in Sebeșu de Sus, Racovița commune, Sibiu County. Vița de Vie, ROA and the Sibiu Philharmonic will take the stage, while the programme includes hikes, guided tours, activities for children and meetings with specialists.
Starting this year, the festival introduces an annual theme dedicated to nature. The 2026 edition focuses on ecosystem services: the essential benefits that the nature of the Făgăraș Mountains provides to people. The festival brings closer to the public the connection between nature, communities and everyday life.

The Făgăraș Mountains are not just a landscape. They are an invisible provider we rely on every day.
Clean air, drinking water, timber, wild berries, pastures, fish, climate regulation, habitats for hundreds of species, landscapes that nourish the soul — all of these come from the Făgăraș Mountains. And all of them are free. Not because they cost nothing, but because nature does not send invoices.
These processes have a name: ecosystem services. And precisely because they are invisible, they are the easiest to overlook.
At the 2026 edition of Făgăraș Fest, we introduce a new tradition: an annual theme dedicated to the nature of these mountains. This year’s theme highlights exactly what we receive from the Făgăraș Mountains, and what happens if we fail to value it.
Come and discover how the nature of the mountains we love truly works.
Nature experiences at Făgăraș Fest 2026
More than 30 guided tours — the highest number in the festival’s history — take participants directly into the heart of the 2026 theme. Not as a lecture, but as an experience: forests, rivers, waterfalls, insects, birds, mountain flora. Guides do not explain from a board — they walk ahead on the trail and show how a living ecosystem works.
Flora, fauna, insects, birdwatching, the waterfalls of the Moașa Valley, Suru Cabin — each route becomes, without trying to, a lesson in what a working mountain truly means.
“Nature does not have a communications department,” said Victoria Donos, Communications Director of Foundation Conservation Carpathia. “No one explains that the mountain behind the village filters the water in your tap, or that the forest on the ridge keeps temperatures a few degrees lower. At Făgăraș Fest 2026, we do that — through experiences, not lectures. We bring concerts, trails, stories and moments that turn an abstract concept into a reality you can feel.”
The festival continues the Carpathia Talks discussion series, where guests and specialists highlight current topics about nature and the relationship between people and ecosystems. Through open conversations and diverse perspectives, the public is invited to reflect on the role of nature in our lives and how today’s decisions influence ecosystem balance in the long term.
For children and families, the festival prepares interactive outdoor activities, including the ‘Explorers of the Făgăraș Mountains’ competition, which challenges young participants to discover nature through games and tasks inspired by mountain ecosystems.
Festival evenings will be complemented by concerts and musical moments that bring together well-known artists and local performers, transforming the atmosphere at the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains into a space for connection, relaxation and enjoyment in nature.
On Friday evening, the audience will enjoy a concert by the Sibiu Philharmonic, followed by ROA, while on Saturday evening the stage will feature Vița de Vie and DJ Raul Carpiuc. Under the open sky, music becomes part of the festival experience, alongside stories, conversations and the quiet of the mountains.
Făgăraș Fest supports local businesses
At Făgăraș Fest, food comes from producers in the villages around the Făgăraș Mountains — people who run small businesses, who use local ingredients, who prepare everything that reaches the plates of festival visitors. The beer is locally crafted, as are the jams, cheeses, sweets and juices. The festival market is a living inventory of the area: craftspeople who still work with their hands, small businesses that have chosen to stay and build here.
Făgăraș Fest – a festival for the whole family
Făgăraș Fest is a place where nature, community and outdoor experiences come together naturally. From hikes and guided tours to activities for children, concerts and meetings with local people, the festival offers participants the opportunity to discover the Făgăraș Mountains in an authentic way.
Every corner of the festival tells a story — whether it is a walk along mountain trails, an inspiring conversation within Carpathia Talks or a musical moment under the open sky. Făgăraș Fest creates a space where people can enjoy nature, learn new things and spend time together.
Făgăraș Fest – a festival with community impact
Since its first edition, Făgăraș Fest has become an important event for the communities around the Făgăraș Mountains. Organised over the years in several locations across the region, the festival has contributed to promoting the area and supporting local initiatives.
The 2025 edition brought more than 7,000 participants to the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains and directly involved the local community: 18 local producers and traders, 800 local residents and 46 volunteers contributed to the organisation and atmosphere of the festival.
We look forward to welcoming you to Făgăraș Fest 2026 for three days spent in nature, at the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains. Hikes, stories, music and meetings with people who love nature will come together in an experience that brings together the community, visitors and the beauty of the place.
Residents of Racovița commune benefit from free access to the festival based on their ID card.
Făgăraș Fest is organised with the support of UniCredit Bank, Aenova and Erste Asset Management, in partnership with Sibiu County Council.
