On the 26^th of March 2015 we started the spring planting campaign, when also the weather became a little milder, even though winter still seems to hold on tight and there’s still partial snow cover, strong winds and obviously quite cold up throughout all Dâmboviţa Valley. A total of over 100,000 saplings have been planted up to this day, out of which 84 % are beech (Fagus sylvatica), 9 % sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus), 4 % fir (Abies alba), and 3 % spruce (Picea abies) and grey alder (Alnus incana). Using a planting scheme of 4,000 saplings per hectare, this covers roughly 26 ha of clear-felled land. An average number of 27 workers have worked in reforestation throughout the past weeks, and even more will join to finish the entire 80 hectares we set as an objective for this season.
