Networking with other LIFE projects helps to optimise project results and to avoid mistakes. For this reason we visited two Austrian Nationalparks – Nationalpark Kalkalpen and Nationalpark Gesäuse – that are both very good examples of mountain forest and river restoration. During this trip end of April we definitely learned a lot from their hands-on experiences related to river restoration and transfer of managed forests into more natural ecosystems.
