‘Cobor among the oaks’, the festival dedicated to the oaks around the village of Cobor, invites those who love nature and unique experiences to its second edition. The event, organised by Foundation Conservation Carpathia with the support of Alpha Bank, will take place during the Pentecost holiday, on 22nd – 23rd of June, at the Cobor Biodiversity Farm.
The festival is an opportunity to get to know the local community, to discover an area of great natural biodiversity, to highlight the meadows with ancient oaks in the Cobor village area and, why not, to dance barefoot on the grass. The event also represents our commitment to preserving and restoring the ancient oak meadows.
‘Cobor among the oaks’ is an invitation addressed to lovers of simple living and to those keen to discover local cultural and natural values. During the day there will be guided tours of the village, hikes to the meadows with ancient oaks, hikes to the oak trees that are now taking root and tours to the Cobor Biodiversity Farm. The hiking trails will be a little different, so those who have been to the festival before can discover new landscapes.
On the two evenings of the festival, the music of artists Ana Coman, Moonlight Breakfast and Taraf de Caliu and Viorica will enliven the courtyard of the Cobor Biodiversity Farm.
There will be no shortage of children’s activities and local dishes at this year’s event, all for a unique summer experience. Those who want to share relaxation and joy with their loved ones will be able to do so with postcards, sent right on the spot thanks to the partnership with the Romanian Post.
Tickets can be purchased on LiveTickets.ro.

The festival is supported by Alpha Bank, in partnership with Poșta Română, the County Public Mountain Rescue Service – Salvaspeo Brasov, Mountain Rescuers Association Romania, Voluntariat Brasov.
About ‘Cobor among the oaks’
The festival is organized by Foundation Conservation Carpathia with the aim of highlighting the meadows with ancient oaks around the village of Cobor and to present the efforts to restore them. In 2019, Foundation Conservation Carpathia started an ecological reconstruction project in the area, planting 550 sessile oak (Quercus petraea) seedlings so far. The village of Cobor, one of the oldest Transylvanian villages, is located in the middle of these unique oak pastures in Europe. The village is also distinguished by its high natural value pastures, but also by the Transylvanian grey cattle that have returned here through the efforts of Foundation Conservation Carpathia.
The first edition of the festival ‘Cobor among the oaks’ was awarded at the ‘Gala Awards of the Year 2023 in Culture in Brașov’ in the category ‘Debut’.
