One day after a good snowfall we have conducted this year’s first otter monitoring along the Dimbovita River and its tributary streams. We were very pleased to find fresh tracks all the way from the end of Valea Vladului down to the entrance of Satic village, which translates into over 30 river kilometers. Since all the tracks appeared very fresh we assume that we have three different individuals or family groups along the river and the (currently almost empty) Pecineagu Lake. We have also taken excrement samples for genetic analysis to learn more about the social structure of these animals.
