The mountain vibrates to your rhythm! 26-28 July 2024
If you come to Nucșoara village, plan on climbing the highest peak in Romania, Moldoveanu Peak, 2,544 m. From here you can choose the most direct route to the top! The trail is difficult and challenging. Before the big adventure, prepare yourself well and ask for information from SALVAMONT Argeș, Nucșoara team. Negoiu Peak is here too. The second highest mountain peak in Romania stands at 2,535 m. Nearby is Călţun Lake.
Nucşoara Lake, also known in the area as Învârtita Lake, is the largest karst lake formed within gypsum (a soft, soluble calcium sulphate rock) in Romania. The lake is located at an altitude of 780 m, has an area of 2.2 hectares, a depth of 5 m and is declared a natural monument.
Nucșoara commune hides one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Romania, Valea Rea waterfall. It is less well known, but certainly no less spectacular. You can see it whilst climbing the Fagaras Mountains, on the route Curmătura Maliţei and then on to Valea Rea, a rewarding experience during which you can admire the most pristine untouched wilderness with several small waterfalls.
